Description

A New Web-Based Method for Geriatric Interprofessional Education:
?Interactive Unfolding Cases

THIS IS A METHOD THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO ANY FIELD

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Several barriers exist that create challenges in implementing effective interprofessional education (IPE) programs. This webinar will present an innovative solution to providing IPE that involves the use of virtual interactive, unfolding cases that engages students from different health professions in learning the complexity of geriatric care and develops team-based skills. An exemplar of a case study using a virtual platform will be demonstrated. Valuable insights from evaluating this type of approach and lessons learned that affect curriculum development will be shared.

OBJECTIVES

  • Describe the rationale and process used in developing unfolding cases for use in geriatric interprofessional education.
  • Examine the components incorporated into a virtual platform for learning and evaluating team-based geriatric care.
  • Discuss lessons learned from offering virtual interprofessional geriatric cases.
